On ICQ, MSN and YAHOO messenger

While waiting for knock off time, I was reminded of the IT Firm that my brother, William, is working in. His boss actually asked him on his 1st day of work, do you have icq or msn? Yes, said William. That's good, boss replied. In office this is our way for effective communication.

Hey that's a really open-minded boss he has!! Eager to apply for a job there already? :-)

Isn't it great if all companies can adopt that thinking? Chatroom for effective communication! How wonderful. In many offices of today, firewalls are everywhere. You can't check your Yahoo or Hotmail, you can't click on anything that has got the word "Game", and you know what, you can't even access Victoria's Secret! Is there anything wrong with looking at sexy lingerie? Well, I guess the point it, it won't have anay relevance to your work.

Those IT backroom people are really doing a great job back there. Slowly but surely they manage to literally everything. A website that may be alright today may be banned tomorrow. A message will pop out to say "This is a restricted site. Please contact your Administrator if you think you would require this website in your course of work".

So all I can do now is this. I don't even know if it helps.
