Novus Restaurant & Bar
Rating: ****1/2
Add: #01-02 National Museum, 93 Stamford Rd
Tel: +65 6336 8770
Price: S$108/pax for a 5 course set meal without wine

Set in the newly built National Museum, the restaurant is a really cosy and convenient place to eat at. A central place where you and friends from all corners of the island can gather for a nice meal.

The restaurant is set up by 2 Michelin chefs, Australian and German. Over the last 2 weeks, Chup and I have eaten at the place twice! Reason being, effective from 9 Apr 2007, their 5-course-set-meal will increase in price from $88 to $108! So we quickly ate the 2nd time on 8 Apr 2007. He he...

Diners are also allowed to change the main course to anything else that is on the ala-carte menu. Of course if you are opting for more expensive main course, additional charges apply.

The following are what we ate on our 1st visit:

We started off with some excellent breads with tasty butter and balsamic + vinegar dip

Next comes the Tuna Starter

Our Ala-carte appetizer: Foie Gras. Scrumptious!!

Scallop Appetizer (2nd course of the 5-course set)

Cod fish Appetizer

Lemon grass Sorbet to clear the palette before embarking on the main course

Lamb main course (4th course) - Chup's top favourite

My ala-carte Chicken Roll main dish

Lastly, chocolate cinnamon desert to conclude our extraordinary dinner.

... the one whose husband declare this meal to be among his best meals of his life
