Humping Man

This car is always seen at my estate's carpark during weekends. The owner, a married man with kids, will come either on Friday night or Saturday morning.

A check with our know-all-security-guards revealed that the man has a kept woman in the estate!! That's how he earned his nickname from Chup and me: the Humping Man. And we actually know the woman. Quite attractive she is. A soccer maniac. How do we know? She will always be at the restaurant bar near our estate during the World Cup. Every night without fail. That's how we got to know her. When we watched soccer matches together.

So it looks like 2 soccer lovers have found each other to be more than just friends.

Valentine's Day for 2007 was rather special.
First, our "Lorong" (meaning Lane) in the office agreed among ourselves to wear pink for the day. There are 8 of us in the Lorong. The last one said she didn't have pink top. So we told her jokingly that she doesn't have to turn up at office on Valentine's day if she doesn't wear pink. She was on Medical Leave that very day!

Then there was part II later in the evening. For the first time, Chup and I celebrated our Valentine's on the day itself. Usually we would celebrate either before or after THE day when retail shops and restaurants would jack up their prices to exorbitant level so that loving couples can spend a "memorably expensive" day.

Chup, to my surprise, reserved a table at Olive Ristorante @ Labrador Park.
Let me take the chance to review this restaurant too.

If you ask me, I don't think it would be a place I would go again.
Except for the nice ambience, the food is really nothing to be proud about. At S$98+++/pax (you end up paying around S$125/pax after all the plusses), the food I must say was rather disappointing and the portion, miserably small. I think we had to have supper that night.

Food quality aside, I had a wonderful evening. Dear, let's stick to not having Valentine's dinner on Valentine's day itself ok? Muah...

This is the menu for the day. Can you catch the unacceptable typo error on the menu?

Following the menu are some cheezy shots we took that night using my Samsung camera which comes with some interesting frames.

Chup also presented me with this hand-sketched portrait of me :)
Thanks dear...

True-blue auntie?

Last month (Feb 07), there was a CRAZY lunch-time sale at all Aussino outlets in Singapore. They are one of the leading bedsheet brands in Singapore. I suspect they are an Australian brand, judging from the name. But a colleague said that they are American. Well, I am not sure. You tell me if you know...

Anyway, CRAZY indeed the sale was. The sale was only from 11am to 2pm. I managed to drag a colleague to accompany me. We had to queue just to enter the shop. Inside was a made rush. Imagine getting quilt cover set/fitted sheet set in all sizes for just S$18.50. Normally, their price would range from S$40 to as much as over S$200. So there I was, turning the shop upside down just like the rest of the aunties. Cheap cheap cheap!!!

Even the queue at the cashier was incredible. It was as if we were lining up for free bedsheets.

2 hours later, I left the shop satisfied :)

The Fountain
Rating: *
Cast: Hugh Jackman, Rachel Weisz, Ellen Burstyn Genre: Sci-Fi/ Fantasy

Watched on 1 March 2007 at Vivo City with Amel and Vony.

Meaningless and painfully and torturously slow. The movie was so bad, we walked out half way.

Even the website is crappy! Just some screensaver effect, that's about it.

Rating: *1/2
Cast: Kate Winslet, Jennifer Connelly, Patrick Wilson
Genre: Drama

Watched on 11 Feb 07 with Chup at Vivo City.

Attracted to the movie because of this very cool poster and the interesting title.

And what turned out was not cool nor interesting. Vulgar and meaningless. The movie is just about the sex between Kate Winslet and Patrick Wilson. That's all....

Rating: ***
Cast: Song Yun-a, Lee Dong-wook, Kim Ok-bin
Genre: Horror
Watched at Tiong Bahru Plaza on 13 Feb 07 with Amel, Diana, Mel, Cici and Vony.
Scary at parts but the storyline is really stale.
