A night of Mahjong

A scene of my night of mahjong at a friend's place. The plate of disgusting, communal looking cheesecake at the centre of the table doesn't bother us :) And by the way, the cheesecakes are actually very yummy!

7-day-Breakfast

Eversince my mom is back in town, our daily breakfast has never been less than colourful. Prior to her arrival, breakfast will either be bread with nutella or butter or strawberry jam or peanut butter accompanied by either 3-in-1 cereal drink or 3-in-1 milo.

Dinners are of course even more sumptuous but let's not go into details. Here I'd be sharing with you and also for my own record the typical food I now get for breakfast... :)

Monday: Horfun with chicken bits

Tuesday: Fried bee hoon with eggs

Wednesday: Rice with bitter gourd and pork & pork with black sauce

Thursday: Dunno how to describe this, but the brown one is basically steamed beef juice (painstakingly extracted from minced beef) and the black one is seaweed soup. These two dishes are supposedly very nutritious

Friday: Porridge with Preserved Vege and Pork & Pork Floss

The following week.
Monday: Thick beehoon with minced pork and wanton
Tuesday: Nyonya Bakcang (this one is bought, not cooked)
And here's presenting the Master Chef at her recent birthday celebration at Bukit Timah Pasta Fresca on 26 Apr 2008. She is seen here with Bro Sharx.

Marsian has arrived!

A typical look when I wake up in the morning. How come? How come??

...the Marsian herself

Simple Dinner

Brand: Tiger Fondue
Rating: ****
Price: below S$15 per box

For a change, my review this time is not about an eating place but the food product itself. It's this cheese fondue I found on the shelf of many supermarkets. Since I have a set of fondue accessories handy at home, and I am not too keen on chocolate fondue, I decided to give this cheese fondue a try.

Very good indeed it was.
As good as restaurant's standard in fact :)

All you need is the fondue set, baguette and a clove of garlic. And voala (how do I spell this word, huh?)..... Dinner is served!

Try it!

Recent shots

I went to Borders last week and found 5 copies of the Field Guide to South East Asian Birds on the shelves, but thought I'll wait for discounts coupons before buying 1. Yesterday, armed with 30% discount coupons, I went back to get it. And what did I find? It was all gone! Sigh...

These are some recent shots. The heron from Botanic Gardens on 12 Apr, and the sunbird, the top photo, taken on May Day holiday, a Thursday, when I went for a walk in the 'backyard' after typing a resignation letter. It's time for me to fly again.
